Baton Rouge is the state capital and one of Louisiana's largest metros, spread along the east bank of the Mississippi River in East Baton Rouge Parish. It is a working city. LSU and Southern University sit at either end, state government fills downtown, the industrial corridor runs along the river, and underneath all of it is a deep base of family run trade businesses that keep every neighborhood functioning.

That last group is who I build for. Drive Government Street through Mid City, or Perkins Road out toward Bocage and Jefferson Place, or head down Coursey and Siegen toward the Mall of Louisiana and Perkins Rowe, and you pass dozens of home service companies doing genuinely excellent work behind a website that does not show it. Some have no site at all. Plenty have a template someone set up years ago and nobody has touched since, the kind that loads slowly on a phone and gives a homeowner no particular reason to call that number instead of the next one down the list.

The climate here keeps demand steady for exactly this kind of work. Long humid summers put algae and mildew on siding, roofs, and driveways. Hurricane season runs June through November, and storm damage means roofing, tree work, and restoration. The August 2016 flood reshaped whole neighborhoods across this region, and the rebuilding that followed reminded a lot of homeowners how fast they need to find a contractor they can actually trust.

When that homeowner needs someone, they do what everyone does. They pull out a phone, search, and give the first few results about ten seconds each. If your site loads slowly, looks dated, or does not immediately show your work and make it obvious how to reach you, they are gone before you ever knew they were looking.
